How did this insatiable passion for travel begin? I have been so fortunate to have been married to the love of my life for 38 years. My incredible husband has had a very successful career with the airlines. He was proud to have been an loyal American Airlines employee for 35 years. He began with Sky Chefs at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport, then moved to Marietta, Georgia as the city sales manager, and finally to DFW headquarters in Global Sales. We enjoyed many travel opportunities throughout those years and loved to have our children along to enjoy the education and experiences that travel affords. After retiring from American, Bob began a career with Emirates airlines as their city sales manager. Along with that came more wonderful travel opportunities including the chance to visit Dubai. Taking our family along to experience this amazing city was the best trip of our lives.
My career as a librarian is a natural fit for my travel passion. Before embarking on any trips, I love to do a thorough job researching and planning. Naturally, I begin by visiting my local public library to check out any books on the area we plan to visit. I continue my research with Trip Advisor and then start to develop an itinerary. The itinerary is refined several times until I feel we have a good balance of activities. Then we are off to savor our new experiences and create memorable moments to treasure. While traveling, I keep a journal that details our days. I use my journals often to look back as we plan for future adventures. I hope you’ll enjoy my blog as I relive my travels and offer suggestions so that you may create your own magical adventures.
